Palimpsest 2013

n.An object, place or area that reflects its history

2 sculptural figures, steel and concrete

Plymouth College of Art, BA (Hons) Crafts

Taking inspiration from disused and abandoned industrial sites the work is a reflection of the decay and corrosion of things once cherished. Charmaine’s work explores the symbolic traces of emotions, memories and actions. An exploration into the impact that we have on each other and our environment, a spoken word, a gesture, all leave a lasting impression that cannot be erased permanently.
