£50 each

Plymouth University, BA (Hons) FineArt

Non-Places is a theory by anthropologist Marc Augé, he describes how the supermodernity of the urban environment has created spaces of unimportance and no historical meaning, such as motorways, roundabouts and supermarkets. I have created a series of paintings that has explored the run down areas of urbanization within the city of Plymouth. The paintings display scenes from the centre to the edges, where it reveals a series of spaces which have been created with no great significance and where people spend their time when they are outside of their home.
