Anorexia; never perfect enough 2012

Fabric dress

Plymouth University, BA (Hons) Fine Art

I tried to create worked based on the eating disorder anorexia nervosa. I did not want to produce paintings of anorexic models because I wanted to create something more interesting and unique.

I did not want to make something which is horrible to look at, like bones sticking out of someone’s body, but something more dramatic and shocking in another way, the extreme skinny size clothing.

By creating a simple dress, which is impossible to fit into, relates to anorexia by having unachievable goals and there is no such thing as perfection.
