Chelsea Pensioners 2011

Acrylic on block canvas

Part of the Bench Series, Chelsea Pensioners is a representation of Armistice Day. It also inspects the depth of feelings and memories of those who fought and those who are still fighting for our country.

I am a self-taught visual artist with disabilities and have been painting since 2008. Preferring to use acrylic paints I also use watercolours graphite, ink and recycled items. I try to incorporate disability into each of my paintings. Since 2010 I have become a juried member of The Association of British Naïve Artists, Flameworks and Devon Artists Network, exhibiting my paintings across the UK, including The Crypt Gallery, St Ives, Delamore House, Ivybridge and currently at The Gloss Art Gallery in Exeter. I am also the UK representative for Naïve Painters, an International Directory of Naïve Artists.
