Emergence

From film showcases to mixed media installations, this exhibition by second year Fine Art students from Plymouth University, revolves around the themes of emergence and sound and draws inspiration from the work of British artist, Keith Harrison who is currently producing a new commission for the Arts and Heritage Service. Come and explore the talents of Plymouth’s young up-and-coming artists as they express their voices as part of the Council House Art programme.

The show will be open:

Monday 11 May –  11am to 2pm
Thursday 14 May –  11am to 2pm
Monday 18 May –  4.30pm to 6pm
Wednesday 20 May –  11am to 2pm
Friday 29 May –  11am to 2pm

Further works by the students can also be seen at the historic Duke of Cornwall Hotel from 18 to 24 May

Plymouth Arts Graduate Show: 26 September – 5 December 2014

A Councillors’ selection of artwork by graduate students from Plymouth University, Plymouth College of Art and the University of St Mark & St John.

Opening Hours and Artists’ Talks

Throughout the exhibition the Council House will be open every Friday between 12 and 2pm. From Friday 10 October there will be a programme of Artists’ Talks starting at 12.30:

CHART 29 July – 29 August

Work by Plymouth University’s 5 AA2A artists,Tabatha Andrews, Sally Hall, Kayleigh Hill, Gabrielle Hoad and Lee McDonald and the 3 reps, Rachael Allain, Jamie Morrison and LukeWalder.

Artists’ Talks

There will be a series of informal talks by a number of the exhibiting artists between 12 and 1 pm on the following dates. There is no need to book.

Friday 29 August

The Council House will remain open until 2 pm on each of these dates for public viewing of the exhibition.

On the 29 August between 4 and 5.30 pm, AA2A @ CHART is also the first of four venues for ‘First Friday, Open4’ in Plymouth.
